What is the school’s mission and vision?

    • Mission:  The Mission of CCA is to provide a strong academic program and Christian education for our students in an environment that honors God.
    • Vision:  We will diligently teach and nurture each student to help them develop spiritually, intellectually, physically, and socially thereby giving them a firm foundation for a bright hope-filled future.

 

Is there a specific denomination affiliation?

No, Cooper Christian Academy is a Non-denominational Christian school that desires to partner with Christian families who attend a Bible-believing church.

 

What are the school’s general admission requirements?

    • At least one parent or guardian must genuinely acknowledge a relationship with Jesus Christ on the application and during the process of a new family interview.
    • At least one parent must annually sign the CCA “Statement of Spiritual Beliefs” acknowledging that it is the standard of instruction and operation at the school.
    • A student’s acceptance at any grade level is contingent upon the student’s ability measured by a standardized testing program and by the interview data.
    • We are not able to admit students who:
      • Has emotional or disciplinary problems that cannot be met by CCA.
      • Has a court record or reputation that is unchristian.
      • Has a physical handicap or learning disability for which our program is not staffed.
      • Has been expelled or suspended from another school.
    • We ask families to be involved in a local Bible-believing church.

 

How are spiritual development and biblical teachings incorporated into the curriculum?

Biblical teachings are integrated throughout the curriculum.  Students participate in daily Bible class, weekly chapel services, and lessons that incorporate scripture and Christian ethics.  At CCA, biblical integration is immersing our students in biblical TRUTH by connecting EVERYTHING back to GOD!

 

What is the student-to-teacher ratio?

Our student-to-teacher ratio is 11 to 1.  Our max class size is 15 students and no more then 2 classes per grade level.

 

What safety measures are in place?

We prioritize student safety through secure facilities, emergency preparedness plans, and trained staff.  Regular drills and safety protocols are established.  Our outside entrance doors are controlled-access doors.

 

Is there financial aid?

Yes, CCA does have LIMITED Tuition Assistance that can be applied for by a family.  A family can qualify for up to 30% tuition assistance if approved.  See the Admissions Process/Tuition Information sheet in this packet.

What are the school hours, extended care and calendar?

CCA begins our day at 8:00 am and concludes the day at 3:00 pm.  We do offer an extended care program available from 3:15 – 5:15 pm each day for an extra cost.  Our academic calendar runs very similar to Bedford County Schools.

 

How does the school communicate with parents?

We keep parents informed through newsletters, emails, weekly information emails, the app: Class Dojo, phone calls, personal meetings, and a parent meeting at the beginning of the school year.  Our goal is to maintain open lines of communication between parents and staff.

 

What grades does the school offer?

Beginning with the 2025-26 school year we will offer Kindergarten – 4th grade.  We will be adding a grade each year (26-27: 5th; 27-28: 6th; 28-29: 7th; 29-30: 8th) up through 8th grade.

 

How do you handle discipline and behavior?

We follow a positive discipline approach rooted in biblical principles, focusing on teaching student’s accountability, obedience, respect, and conflict resolution.

 

How much recess time a day do the students receive?

We feel that play is extremely important in a child’s education.  Our students receive a least two 20-minute recess times per day.  Sometimes a third is taken if they get work completed.

 

Does the school have a uniform or dress code?

We do require students to wear a CCA Logo Polo shirt to school each day.  We use Lands End as our uniform supplier.  Otherwise, students are allowed to wear jeans, skirts, shorts, etc. to school.

 

Does the school have a “hot lunch” program?

No, at this time CCA does not provide a daily hot lunch program.  Students bring their lunch each day.  We do offer a lunch option on Tuesday’s and Thursdays for an additional cost.  Tuesday is Chick-fil-a and Thursday is pizza.

 

Does the school offer any extra-curricular activities?

At this time, with only being Kindergarten – 3rd grade we do not offer athletics yet.  We hope in the future, once our class sizes get large enough to support athletic teams to be able to offer: soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball.

 

When do you move into your new campus?

CCA will be moved into our beautiful, state-of-the-art 11-acre campus by the Fall of 2026.  The address for the new campus is 1012 Madison Street, Shelbyville, TN.

 

How can I get a tour to see the school with my family?
