No, Cooper Christian Academy is a Non-denominational Christian school that desires to partner with Christian families who attend a Bible-believing church.
Biblical teachings are integrated throughout the curriculum. Students participate in daily Bible class, weekly chapel services, and lessons that incorporate scripture and Christian ethics. At CCA, biblical integration is immersing our students in biblical TRUTH by connecting EVERYTHING back to GOD!
Our student-to-teacher ratio is 11 to 1. Our max class size is 15 students and no more then 2 classes per grade level.
We prioritize student safety through secure facilities, emergency preparedness plans, and trained staff. Regular drills and safety protocols are established. Our outside entrance doors are controlled-access doors.
Yes, CCA does have LIMITED Tuition Assistance that can be applied for by a family. A family can qualify for up to 30% tuition assistance if approved. See the Admissions Process/Tuition Information sheet in this packet.
Please see the information sheet included in this packet about the curriculum that we use.
CCA begins our day at 8:00 am and concludes the day at 3:00 pm. We do offer an extended care program available from 3:15 – 5:15 pm each day for an extra cost. Our academic calendar runs very similar to Bedford County Schools.
We keep parents informed through newsletters, emails, weekly information emails, the app: Class Dojo, phone calls, personal meetings, and a parent meeting at the beginning of the school year. Our goal is to maintain open lines of communication between parents and staff.
Beginning with the 2025-26 school year we will offer Kindergarten – 4th grade. We will be adding a grade each year (26-27: 5th; 27-28: 6th; 28-29: 7th; 29-30: 8th) up through 8th grade.
We follow a positive discipline approach rooted in biblical principles, focusing on teaching student’s accountability, obedience, respect, and conflict resolution.
We feel that play is extremely important in a child’s education. Our students receive a least two 20-minute recess times per day. Sometimes a third is taken if they get work completed.
We do require students to wear a CCA Logo Polo shirt to school each day. We use Lands End as our uniform supplier. Otherwise, students are allowed to wear jeans, skirts, shorts, etc. to school.
No, at this time CCA does not provide a daily hot lunch program. Students bring their lunch each day. We do offer a lunch option on Tuesday’s and Thursdays for an additional cost. Tuesday is Chick-fil-a and Thursday is pizza.
At this time, with only being Kindergarten – 3rd grade we do not offer athletics yet. We hope in the future, once our class sizes get large enough to support athletic teams to be able to offer: soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball.
CCA will be moved into our beautiful, state-of-the-art 11-acre campus by the Fall of 2026. The address for the new campus is 1012 Madison Street, Shelbyville, TN.
We would love to host you and your family for a tour of our current facilities and a chance for you to see our classrooms in action and meet our staff. Please contact Steve Bowers at sbowers@ccacubs.org or by phone at 931-488-5111. We also offer a “Fast Forward Day” in the spring where students can attend the school, in the morning, in the grade they will be next school year.
